fishing around Monkey Mia / Denham
Submitted by DAVE HIGGINS on Tue, 2008-07-08 19:07
I will be visiting Monkey Mia for a few days in late November & would like to do some beach fishing & possibly a day boat fishing.
What species are likely to be caught at this time of year.
Any help in places / marks to fish , or boats to make contact with will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hey Dave
G'day Dave
Was there very early in December a few years back and can tell you it will be WINDY. I now live in Kalbarri and I can tell you that November is WINDY. You can head up to Francios Peron NP (inbetween Monkey Mia and Denham). Right at the tip of the point ( cannot remember the name of it) some vry fishy area's up there. Couple of other places ( big lagoon, lil lagoon, etc ) offer some protected beach/rock options. Not too sure about the immediate M.Mia area but I can assure you it will be windy. I've been windsurfing for over 20 years and got to me after a week. WINDY.
Cheers Mick

Mick, Thanks for
Mick,
Thanks for the reply.
We are flying from England & will be based at Monkey Mia for a week.I am sure we will catch, wind or no wind.
Reading other articles on this great website , it seems as if it will be more sheltered on the M.Mia side compared to the Denham side.
Cheers Dave
