welcome to FISHWRECKED mate .
you can take a short 30 minute drive down to busselton and fish the jetty if youre going to go landbased. you will caatch anything off there but the most reliable species are squid, whiting, herring, skippy and you will often get tailor, samson fish, bonito and various tuna and mackeral coming through. you can go into the underwater observatory and see whats around. i dont know much about bunbury itself but the estaury i have heard is alright fishing for nream and flathead

formerly Irish

take a woman fishing and she will want to learn, teach a women to fish and she will outfish you for the rest of your life!

Might just get the start of salmon season

You might just be able to catch the start of salmon season and if you have a car and are mobile then you can always look around for them.  They are one of the most fun land based fish you can catch.  I'd have a decent sized rod (maybe 7-8ft) in 6-8kg with a light spin combo and 6-8kg line on it.  Then atleast you can use it for other applications. Make sure you keep an eye on the site when you are over here, its usually the first indicator of when people are starting to find the salmon, watch for the salmon reports/photos.

I haven't fished down south in a while, but I'm sure a few of the local boys from down that way can provide you with a few tips.

Welcome to fishwrecked by the way. ;)

Cheers,

Adam
