Eventfull arvo crabbing!!

Went out crabbing in the boat with the young cousin in law this arvo. We had just finished pulling the first string when this bloke in a yak with a sail on started to head our way waving and yelling. WTF? So we headed over to him and said that a tinny with 5 people on board had sunk in the middle of 'the Lesh'.

We bolted over to find 2 blokes in the water, 1 clinging to the tinny and 1 treading water next to it. The other 3 had been picked up by another tinny beforehand. We pulled both blokes on board and preceeded to pull their crab nets ect in.

Finally after a few tow attempts, we managed to tow their tinny over onto the right side and took these two blokes and boat back to the ramp. They were okay just a bit shocked with the whole thing, but nothing a few bourbons wouldnt fix. They were only in the water for a few minutes and reckoned it happened so quick. If it wasnt for the bloke on the yak flagging us down we wouldnt have known!!

We ended up with 10 size crabs and chucked a heap of small ones back. A fairly jamb packed 3 hours crabbing!! haha.

   barney ...

.think we might have seen your tinnie crew yesty arvo at about 4 pm opposite the collie river tavern ..setting out ...  little tinnie was pretty low in the water then and  looked to be struggling out & along  with five onboard ...and a small outboard ....

my son saw them and pointed them out .......one good wind chop wave would have finished em.

good thing it was in the lesch ..

well done on the rescue .
