I'm not really sure how much

Wed, 2011-11-16 19:50

I'm not really sure how much of everything you want us to do for you.

1) Stores sell braid, you want advice on what are good brands

2) Paulus reviews lines, so you can see what line is a good breaking strain for its crossectional area.

3) Take a look in your wallet, work out how much $$$ you have to spend, then try and match a suitable quality sample from the list at Paulus against that $$$.

4) WIN!

True fatboyholla, the price

Wed, 2011-11-16 19:51

True fatboyholla, the price isnt comparable BUT you only have to lose 1 good fish to crap line to realise that it wasnt a good choice! :-)

Always best to pay a bit more for good line, without it your fish wont stay connected to you for long.

Good luck with whatever you choose and enjoy the fishing.

Cheap good quality Braid

Wed, 2011-11-16 20:09

Het Mate, I have used Sea Lion Braid (bought off Ebay on my lower end gear and never had any problems with it.  For $17.95 delivered.  IMO it's pretty good stuff for the price.  Each to there own though, but yeah that stuff you've referenced too looks a bit nasty.

If your saying that the linked product is made in australia and sold here, your a little bit wrong my freind. it says located in Hong Kong - You must be thinking about a different braid - considering you wrote 'powerpro' on your title, maybe you were thinking of Power Pro braid - www.powerpro.com

braid

Wed, 2011-11-16 21:01

I have used lots of different braid over the years from the ebay cheapies to the store bought never had a problem with any of them  .I did notice that some of the braid from ebay was a lot thicker than some of the brand name braids, some lost its colour very quickly

and one of my mates braid was covered in lumps of the dye used.I had braid from Hong Kong ,Vietnam  and China  (I wonder how many makers of braid are really out there)

At the moment I have some power pro which is pretty good , but I also have saltiga boat braid which is the ducks nuts. Its up there for price but its one of these thing that you get what you pay for.

In the end it  boils down to what you have in your wallet and how good your knots are.
