Diesel lpg

Hi all

justpicked up my Navara after a week getting lpg put on , so far as what i can say it has more power with just normal running , havnt done any towing with it yet. this method runs diesel and lpg mix and burns more fuel which means less emissions, the conversion added an extra 16 hp to the 3ltr turbo diesel .this method is suposed to give heaps more power for towing .After getting a few quotes ranging from $4k to $4800 we went to a guy that was reccomended to us thats in armadale and got the job done for $3800 and they did everything including taking the car over the pits for inspection

anyone else had this done?

will find out about towing on monday when i take the the boat for a service

grtting the tub ready for exxy  4 weeks away (too bloody long

I would do my work ute

But companies dont get the government grants to do the conversion, and given I turn over utes every 2 - 3 years (~100,000km), I'll never get the payback on the $3k - $4k outlay for the system. It would take over 250,000km which will never happen.

You think the Governement would encourage companies with incentives to swap their car fleets to gas, but that aint the case.

We have just done the same to one of our Mack Tridents.

This is a 470hp motor that now pulls harder than the Superliner we have that is a 525hp

Has made a huge difference in pulling power, burning around 5 litres of LPG per 100k's. Certainly burning much cleaner too.

Had my F250

Sat, 2009-03-28 17:19

I converted my F250 7.3 to diesel gas back in 2005 when Lovato Diesel Gas  were just establishing their poduct (they were the main players back then).

It definatley gave the truck more towing power but at the end of the day the dollar you saved on diesel wan't worth the Huge outlay the companies are charging for the conversion

Yeah there is no rebate for companys at the momment and a straight diesel for what i have heard it is not worth the money but ours it a 3ltr turbo diesel and works well JMO and  it will only cost us $800 after our $3000.00 rebate so well worth it . We were looking at getting a new car but now with the extra boot gas has given us we do not need to .
