Denham Sound Snapper TAC

You'd reckon that with the convoluted laws regarding the Shark Bay Pink Snapper fishery that a bit more information would be available online. The Denham Sound regs state a daily limit of 1 fish with a slot size between 500-700mm per day with a total allowable catch of 15 tonne for the Denham Sound fishery. But good luck trying to find any info as to whether that TAC has been achieved yet this year or in years past. It's a bloody minefield. But I guess that's what they were trying to achieve, make it too damn hard to keep any fish.

Confusion!
There are about five or six different areas and rules just in the Shark Bay area for Snapper. As above, always ask the local Fisheries rep. Anyway, there are plenty of other targets there mate.

Cheers boys.....
Will give Denham Fisheries a bell tomorrow. My point was though, that we shouldn't have to spend hours chasing this info before we go for a fish.
If the Fisheries Dept is going to introduce such convoluted regulations then they should have a responsibility to provide that information to the public.
FFS can you imagine living up there and having to call Fisheries every time before you go for a fish to see if the TAC has been achieved.
And yes I can target other species and I will. But how many other places in the world can you target big Pink Snapper on Bream gear with sand between your toes?
If I peg one I'd like to know if I can neck the bugger and eat it without faffing around calling various govt depts for a week beforehand.....
