Deep Sea / Fluoro Squid

The little plastic squids that apparently glow in the dark do they work ?

anyone had success with them anyone swear by them.

What size and what should you pay for them are there any better brands that I should be looking for.

Yep!

I've used them all Coley and they work well. Even when i was helping my stepbro doing commercial wetlinning we experimented and the glow add-on attracters caught the bigger Dhu & Pinks etc.

The bulby type work better (standout) and they are 11cm in size. Fluro green & natural are my favourites. We sell the original B2 squids for $3.95 but the copys work just ther same and they're $1.95

You can also buy a bag of 50 for $69.95 so bulk saving!

Interesting topic

I use them all the time. My riggs would feel nude now if I did not use them. Not sure if they are giving me an advantage but I do have success, caught a club record KG 1.4kg on one last time out. The bulby fluro green is what Im addicted to. Cost a bit though because I go through a couple every time out.
Good to get other peoples ideas because I believe they have me possessed.

Ryan is that price for 50, the B2 originals ?

Are these only useful when

Mon, 2009-06-29 16:35

Are these only useful when fishing in deep and thus dark water?  Do you rig them on the line just above the bait as an attractor or what do you do?  Sorry for my ignorance.

Day & Night!

Gus,

I use them day & night, they sit just above your bait so your trace line goes through the middle of the SP!

The best thing is when the fish rips into your bait you still have an attracter to keep the fish interested!

Fluoro Squids!

Mon, 2009-06-29 18:42

This day and age, I believe absolute essential.  I have only just started using them within the last 6-8 months, and would feel nude if I dropped a line without one now.  The best thing about them when you are bottom bouncing in depth over 30mtrs, it can get pretty dark down there, and these things glow in the dark, so even when you have no bait you still get bites!

I generally use the river2

Mon, 2009-06-29 19:53

I generally use the river2 sea ones which are larger that the b2's or surecatch have the smaller ones in a pack of 8 usually cost about $8 a pack I brought a big batch off ebay not long ago they were mixed half were lumo pink and the rest lumo green I use them either bottom bouncing or drift baiting with a lumo bead for a bit of extra zing and have noticed the difference.

Even if you buy the cheaper ones get a lumo tube the ones the talor guysuse and shove it up the back of the squid and presto bright lumo squid

some theorise that it looks like the squid feeding on the bait (ie competition) and trgiggers the fish to "get amongst it" so to speak. Others feel the glow is just another attractant to get the fish to look at your offering.

Its probably a little of column A and a little of column B I reckon.

Correct Diagram!

Tue, 2009-06-30 21:36

My belief is that your diagram is absolutely correct, we were bottom bouncing with the exact diagram a few weeks ago, and all rigs had the same setup, and proved to catch plenty of fish.
