Dampier fish, what could it be

Unfortunately left the camera as we were only going for a crab, but decided to fish near some structure in 18m of water last saturday night. Caught 2 fish that have me baffled. Catfish head, close to metre in lenght, fight like a sportsfish with multiple runs, no give up like a true cattie, and with a large sickle tail. Silver blue in colour and almost looks like a shark in the H2O. Caught right on bottom.

Never seen one before but they fought like the blazes and had my Miller barra stick and Curado screaming.

I just wonder if anyone has any ideas about what it could have been. Both released TFAD (to fight another day).

They could have been salmon

They could have been salmon catfish. Nice chrome sheen. Fork tail. Salmon cats have super slime on them and stink. Or maybee a blue salmon. Did they have scales? Blue salmon have eyes that are really close 2 gether and loose their scales really easy. Have caught them both on structure up north. What did you get em on? Any other clues?
