crab nets in the mindarie marina

saw some young blokes dropping crab nets from the jetty on the pub car park side. theyd got four good ones in the half hour i was there. is this common practice in the marina and is it allowed? if so, can they be caught anywhere in the marina? seems like a great idea to have some pots out while your fishing from the rocks or jetties

Legal
As far as I know its legal to use drop nets inside of the marina as long as they are not a hazard/obstruction for boaters

Yeah most people don't mind
Yeah most people don't mind but don't do what most do and stick them right in the pens. Nothing worse than coming home to find crab nets in your pen. If i do normally i just chop them and hope the idoit who put them there comes over for a winge

haha lol we have been in the marina on our boat and there is a tinny it is like a commercial crabing boat it was about 3.5m ali with a 15hp or 25hp (cnt remeber) but seriously he had like 20-30 nets wiht him he was liek driving and he would throw a net off with a milk/coke bottle at the end then like another 5-10 m another one so on... after 20-30 pots been thrown into the water he would just moore up and then in 20 mins he went bak and cheked them all while we were eating our home-made food (taking a break from the wind/seas)
