Cooler Bag - Product Review

After getting in a bit late on Wednesday night and not looking forward to cleaning the fish, we left them in the shed in the MadFish cooler bag with 2 bags of ice.

24 hours later, most of the ice still there, fish perfect for filleting.

Great product.

I've got the enormous one

Fri, 2015-09-25 10:56

I've got the big one which is good for big pelagics nearly 2m long) and this one, which is the intermediate size. It is about 1.2m long, perfect for big demersals and can fit in sub 15 kg macs.

HI JohnF,

I always wonder how the internal of the bag is holding up against the sharp dorsal fin of demersal like snappers & dhues ?

These are tough as. No

These are tough as. No worries so far, very thick inner plastic, then insulation, and then outer skin.

They certainly look the goods

Fri, 2015-09-25 14:38

They don't take up as much space as a big esky by the picture and even with the ice in them they look to be a better option than the esky . Do you know if they were at a special price at last years boat show.

Best part about them is you

Fri, 2015-09-25 14:56

Best part about them is you can jam them in any part of the boat as they are fully flexible, so can jam them between seats or down the side of the boat or in the cab while fishing . Big eskies are a pain.

 What about fish snot and

Fri, 2015-09-25 19:52

What about fish snot and blood leaking into the seams and into the insulation, do they stink??? Bit sceptical after a friend used a soft cooler for bait during our last trip to Onslow the thing was ripe as and ended up full of maggots.

Good question

I would be most interested in the answer to the above question, I never thought about that problem, thanks "shortfuse.

This bag seems really good.

Fri, 2015-09-25 20:59

This bag seems really good. No leakage so far, quick squirt out with the hose and it smells fine today.

My mate has had one for over a year and no worries.

These bags are great, I have the large. Too big for local fishing but up north it's killer. Great quality and well priced

I'm a big fan of these bags

Sat, 2015-09-26 09:02

I'm a big fan of these bags too. I've got the big one and it's very handy in terms of space it takes up in the boat versus the amount of big Pelagics it can fit (6 big Macks and an XL wahoo on our last trip!)

I've also just been giving it a squirt out as per normal esky and no leakage or stinkage issues after use
