Try steaming them. They come

Try steaming them. They come out great. We just use a Big stainless pot with a cake rack sort of thing we made out of 50x50mm square mesh. That sits off the bottom about 80mm and you fill the water to just below the rack. Place crabs in and boil the water. Make sure the lid is on the pot. Then afterwards add chilli and garlic

So many fishing spots. Not enough sickies!!!!!!!

yeah man i got a killer

yeah man i got a killer chilli crab / mussel recipe;

you gotta clean the crab while its green (uncooked), and then break em in half.

then for every 3 or 4 crabs you need the following; an onion, heaps of crushed garlic, 1 can of crushed tomatoes, and 2 cups (half a litre) shit white wine, and chilli to taste, usually only a couple of hot ones for me cos im a bit of a pussy when it comes to hot food. fresh herbs like basil and coriander are also pretty good for this.

chop the onion fine, and throw it in the pot with a little bit of oil and a good heaped tablespoon of garlic (i put more in cos i love the shit) and whatever chilli you want. might pay to put the chilli in a bit at a time if you dont want it chilli-hot.

just give that a little bit of browning, then empty your tin of tomatoes and wine in and get it boiling, and any herbs you want in there. then throw in your CLEANED halved crabs for about 10 mins, and thats pretty much it. serve them hot, and with some thick italian bread for dunking in the chilli sauce.

pretty messy to eat, but far ken nice man. real nice.

gauranteed root if your trying to impress the missus/lady friend.

 1 tablespoon Fish sauce
 3 teaspoons palm or brown Sugar

METHOD
 Chill the crabs until they die

 Heat oil in a large cast wok or pot
 Add garlic, chili, ginger & and cook until fragrant
 Add the crabs and toss
 Add tomato sauce, chili sauce, water, hoi sin sauce, fish sauce, sugar and salt.
 Stir to combine the ingredients, bring to the boil.

Serve with lots of crusty bread cos your gonna want to mop it all up, and lots of beer to wash it down.

Just try it you'll never want crabs any other way.

TOps recipe Daisy.

4 crabs lasted for 2 dinners, they seem to go further when you quarter them and cook them this way

And the bread is a must, the sauce is awesome!
