Cockburn Sound squid

My mate tim and I headed out into the sound on the jetski last Friday and ended up with 10 squid. Some of them were the biggest we've ever caught. Tim got blasted by squid ink on his very first squid. Rookie. As you can see, he was very pleased about it! Cooked them up and they were awesome, soo tender!!

They are fantastic photos! Fantastic.

I like the fact you were using cheapie lures and what looks like a heavy non-flurocarbon leader :-)

Yeah i saw that,,i can't help wondering how they would have went with a less visible leader and a decent squid jig ? maybe twice as many ?

Great feed tho, thats all you really need,,

yep on the money mate. I like sight fishing for squid, gets quite frustrating when the squid are being fussy though. The squid were super agressive this day, every squid we raised out of the weed hit the jig

What time were you fishing?

Mon, 2010-10-04 17:17

Looks outside the usual morning/afternoon time frame when the squid start to bite.
