COBB Cookers

Just wondering if anyone on here has any experience with the COBB cookers, that run on 5 to 6 heatbeads.

Read some good PR on them but I'm hoping for some real feedback from people who have used them.

John

They are FIRST Class

they have a moat around the cooker, the vapor of the moat flavours the meat and keeps it really moist

put in a roast lamb, put a stubby of little creatures bright ale and wait for it to cook, get the juices outta the meat and the moat, loaded it up with stock and gravy powder and you'll make the most insane gravy in the world!!

try red wine and chicken 2

Cobb cookers!

Sat, 2009-03-28 01:25

Howzit Big John? The Cobb was invented here in South Africa and my wife (soon to be ex wife) bought me one of the first ones for a Christmas present, I was not impressed, I only had 67 rods and was in desperate need of more, "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS THING" ? Well B.J. I ate my words, they are magic little wonders, I even carried one on the plane to Jakarta when I worked there for 2.5 years, I have cooked on my fiber glass boat, I have even cooked in the back of my Nissan Patrol as I drove along the freeway, no shit! They don't get hot on the outside and they don't smoke, they work very similar to a Weber/Stephens but in reverse, the mote is around the coals instead of in the center as in a Weber/Stephens. Check out their web site at www.cobbglobal.com They have a new source of fuel the "Cobble Stone" it comes from Indonesia and is made from coconuts, not cheap, but it is ready to cook in 2 minutes flat and does not smell like other impregnated coals. They have equipment to cook on boats that attaches to the rail, please don't try my methods of cooking next to fuel tanks and inside vehicles! They are not for large families, but for a man and wife or for a special dish, they can't be beaten! I have a recipe book if you require anything special!

Haha the other other reason

Haha the other other reason not to cook in an enclosed space is that charcoal in a confined space is a fairly popular suicide method in HK and Japan.

My wife was bad, but I have too many fish to catch before they "Bury Me at Sea" and the Patrol has aircon and the "Cobble Stones" are made from coconuts not charcoal!
