G'day all! Just bought a caldia 2500 and looking for a rod to "stick it" to. Mainly for soft plastics. Any recommendations guys? Looking to spend max $300. Cheers.

Go the Sol II rod Ant, med
Go the Sol II rod Ant, med light 6 to 10 lb can cast up to 3/8, could go the lighter model if fishing lighter line. I just bought a Redback (4-8lb same cast weight), had that Sol in hand with it and I swear they are the same blank just half the price. The 1st series Sol are nice too. Bluewater do the new Tournament Master S, I got the 4-9kg model for heavier placcy fishin, nice rod, got the new k-guides, only bout $150, Im sure the lighter models would suit. For some reason the rods arent on the Daiwa site nemore tho.
I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.

Yeah, got the redback teamed
Yeah, got the redback teamed up with an Exceller 1500. Awesome combo for targeting whiting and the like with poppers etc. Like the feel ( and look ) of the Daiwa rods. Might have to check out the sol II. Gee the caldia is soooo smooth and light as! Cheers for the help Tim - o.

I have my caldia 2000 matched up to a daiwa spellbinder rod, awesome combo. Very light but fights well above its weight, caught fish up to 5kg on it.
Either of these would do the trick
702ULFS 7'/2pc 1-3kg 1-4g U Light Spin702LFS 7'/2pc 2-4kg 2-8g Light SpinBit cheaper than the sols too.
