Broome ramps are not the best, but still easy to launch. What size boat have you got mate?

I have a 5.8m Pacemaker

You will need a 4wd to launch on all but the top of spring tides. With that boat entrance point is your only option. Biggest problem most people have is taking too long to retrieve their boat,not using low range 4wd or leaving the vehicle running whilst retrieving. Unless you are here for longer than a week I wouldn,t waste my time towing the boat up, just jump on a charter with the fuel money saved.

Towed the boat up to Broome from karratha and wouldnt waste my time again. You need a "dicky" wheel on the front and a long tow robe for launch and retrieve, unless you are fast and have a very experinced crew.
If you are from Albany I would save the fuel and hire a boat or go on a charter for sure. The ramps suck in my opinion purely because of the large tidal variation. It moves fast and even though the sand is hard often the water moves faster than you can move, and wash around the wheels is nor recommended. I will pm you a link from Broome fishing club.

launched a 6.10 there last year no problems at all. Drop it in at gantheume point beach on low tide then pulled it in on a out going. Was no need for fifth wheel but would make it easier. To retreive push ya trailer out with an out going tide pull ya boat up onto trailer then let the tide run out. When trailer/boat are dry hook the car up. Sounds complicated but was pretty easy. Locals do it all the time no reason you cant.

Wouldn't of troubled the fish too much with that method Macca. sit on the beach and watch the tide go in and out. We just destroy a 4wd each year. I should send the bill to Mr  Barnett

Carol Martin should be whispering in Woodside's ear and get them to upgrade the facilities as a sign of good faith to the local community, it will give the greenies the shits as it just means more people out there raping the ocean but i'm sure 90% of the population would appreciate the effort.

Alot of locals don't want to see a gas hub up here they like the town the way it is, so jumping into bed with woodside and the likes is probably not an option. The government should just get off its arse and realise that broome really is part of the state.

i'm sorry i cannot see why Broome would reject industry being NEAR the town, you won't see it but the benefits they brings when it comes to providing funding for infrastructure, supporting things like the local sea rescue like Woodside does here and sponsers events in the community why you wouldn't let them help out with the clout they can provide to get things happening in your town.

 The state government will do SFA for what they see as a caravan park for 6 months of the year when they are not reaping the rewards for having primary industry in the area.

Sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but if you guys have been waiting this long get used to it, Mr Grylls is in the Pilbara's pocket as thats where the royalties are coming from so he's throwing the cash at us, get yourself a gas plant and you too will reap the rewards as well. well i have read in The West this morning that the government and Landcorp plan to release up to 4000 homesites in North Broome over the next 10 to 30 years with a expected population of an extra 13000 people regardless if a LNG hub goes ahead or not.

Well the state government better be setting aside some funds in that to put a decent boat ramp in then thats all i can say. Come on Woodside i want to move to Broome!
