3kg!!!!!! now thats big!

3kg!!!!!! now thats big! Starlostix, penn pinpoint tornament, strudwick sic stics. dawia heartland.....etc all around $100. Shimano backbone, technium, penn powersticks around $60 i think. 2 to 4kg in 7" is best IMO. but each to there own as many rods suit soft plastics and some hard bodies and others are great for soaking a bait. Give Ryan at oceanside a call and im sure hell help u out.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

found an awesome medium-fast taper bream rod yesterday at tackleworld... the silstar 100% graphite ones which are like, really really thin... very very flicky... and only $89...

I might just buy one... theyre 3-5kg so awesome...

Id almost pay to get into a 3kg bream...........must around the 48 to 52cm mark for that size. Ive caught quite a few in the pallinup river system that go the 46 to 50cm mark and there only 2.2 to 2.5kg max! 3kg is huge! Did you see it wieghed?

Tue, 2007-08-14 16:53

i reckon 3kg might be a bit of an exageration... or the guys scales are out or something... because it would have to be one fat mofo to be 3kg or to be properly proportioned, it would have to be like 60-70cm long.

Na, thats gotta be wrong! 66cm sure it wasnt a soapy? Rickets i think its 58cm but cant remember. They grow to the 50cm mark down at pallinup and are caught quite often but over that has never been done. 66cm would have to be the record for the swan id think.,

Wed, 2007-08-15 19:11

maybe its a different type of bream... seriously man, 66cm is bloody big for a swan river black bream... what was the location? If you were in the lower reaches of the swan, id be more confident saying that maybe a different species of bream has come in from the ocean or has come in to spawn... buff bream, silver bream? black snapper?

ROFL

dude, trust us...

youd be lucky to get a 2kg bream, its NOT COMMON

its obvious the fish you measured was not a black bream... it was most likely a different species of bream if you say it looks the same as a blackie.

Sun, 2007-08-19 21:15

i see that sharky posted up a post on bream master forums and they all reckon it wouldnt have been a black bream from the swan. The SA river they say yeah, but the swan they dont think so considering the record is nowhere near that.

Yah Honsu, thats just a fat bugger...

I think we summized the 66cm or the 60-70cm mark of how a long a 3kg bream would be in proportion if it lived in the swan river...

Youll notice ad's mum's bream is like ultra ultra fat... lol

But still, ill say again, you get black bream all around the country, some getting that big and near to it.. but in the swan, its a fallicy.

We didn't weigh that bream my mum had, we assumed it was three kg because of its size. Couldn't have mistaken it for a snapper almost.
