blue salmon
the tailor of the north! great fun to catch the old bluies thats for sure.. when the easterlies start and the water begins cooling we used to start seeing a few about in hedland... half mulies with little or no weight worked well in any of the creeks or tidal flats.. lot of crew used handlines on big tides - walked out to the water line and walked in with it as the tide rose... lures anything like shallow running nilsys classic barras manns the lot. it all works... dont be afraid to fish dirty water.. aka the reason the salmon have such a huge eye so far forward in there heads... good luck scottland hope ya bag a few.. not too bad chewing fresh outta the water too.. hope that helps

Caught a few salmon north of Coral Bay
last week, good sized ones. Go quite hard on the line, surprised me a bit. Great fun. Also caught a couple that I think were thread fin since they had the whiskers on their gob.
