Blue Power Headlamp Globes?
Submitted by Dreamweaver on Mon, 2008-10-06 09:26
One of the headlamp globes blew on our Kia Sorrento and was thinking of replacing them with Blue Power's as advertised in Repco's latest brochure as the lights on the Kia have never been great. Haven't the dollars to shelve out some decent pencil spots yet.
Has anybody fitted these and what improvement did you experience?
They're on special at $54.99 a pair - thats only 2,749.5 of the 18,750 chooks I caught last fortnight.

Colin I know a few guys that have been pulled over running these sort of generic globes aswell as after market HID units , the main trouble of the after market units was that the cars they were getting installed in didn't have self levelling headlights and this is what they were copping the yellow's for , hope this help's

Thanks Feral!
Cheers for that Feral, if I do get them, I'm having the service manager at Kia in Albany fit them (he'll do it for free :) ), so, if we get them, I'll make sure that's covered.

Also colin just check that
Also colin just check that the wattage's eg power ratings don't go bigger than the standard globes otherwise the wiring mightn't like it and get hot and start blowing fuses

All Good Ferral
The chap at Repco in Albany says they draw the same watts as the H4 Kia Globes - so all should be ok.

Too True Feral !
Yeah, thanks for the thoughts and input mate - really appreciated!
The standard lighting on the kia was down right dangerous at 110 kph
I know ALL about melting wires. Had a Fiat 124 that jammed a throttle linkage and flooded the engine bay with petrol - then burst into flames in transit on South Street near Murdoch Uni years ago. Happened at a set of lights - was funny as to watch the passenger in the car next to us hug the console and the driver gunning it and eventually shoot a red light. It was on Christmas Day too
. We saved the presents in the boot - but the lil fiat was a write off.
We were attened by 4 police cars, 2 ambulances (that we didn't call but someone else did) 1 main fire truck, two smaller tenders and, in the end, about 150 spectators.
I belted my brother when he said ' all we need now is the media' !

I bought a 128sp wreck that
I bought a 128sp wreck that was going to uwa one monday morning when the fuel return dropped off, pumped fuel into the altenator which arced up and flames came out the slits in the bonnet.
Ok that was bad, but what was worse was that they went back into the air intake and out the dash vents, up the windscreen and along the roof.
The girl said she got out of it very, very fast and it was put out by a council tree watering truck.

LOL Till!
At least mine was confined to under the bonnet.
The head fire guy just put it out with a fire blanket - cool as he was, well, a lot coller than my HOT red 124 LOL

Hi Ya, Have you got plastic
Hi Ya,
Have you got plastic or glass reflectors? If plastic be careful about wattages as they may run to hot and melt the reflectors (so my auto sparkie bro-in-law tells me).
Cheers.
