Submitted by stevebw23 on Sun, 2012-01-01 19:00
taking some friends snorkelling over at rotto in a few days, just wondering if someone could sugest a good spot to go (one of the bays). 1st time for me snorkelling over there so i wouldnt have a clue as to which bay would be best. hoping to find somewhere thats safe and will also need to be able to anchor the boat nearby. any help would be greatly appreciated
Cheers

Yeah Salmon Bay should be
Yeah Salmon Bay should be fine wednesday, its only really when you get some westerly in the breeze that it kicks up in there. Parker Point juts out to protect it from the easterly breeze. Couple of lines of reef in there as well and I have pulled crays from right in close to the beach as well. Plenty of pots to naviagte around on the way in and out though.
