Beached whales hamelin bay

Just heard on the radio about 150 beached whales down at hamelin bay . has e
anyone else heard the same and any updates.
they say some have died but not too sure

Went down today to see if i could help out...
Pretty tough situation TBH but it really seemed like no one had any plan to give it a crack and try get a few off the beach....
Early there was a shark boat not far off the shore, I know skull dragging them aint ideal but nor is them being belted on sharp limestone rolling around in the dumping shorebreak....
I would have given something a go at least but ended up leaving them too it...
I heard from a mate who got home after dark they sent 8 of them out and he was crossing his fingers....
Unfortunately i'm heading to work tomorrow but it will be an awsome sight when the Whites get a sniff and they will, there was already a large oily slick on its way north....
I reckon surfing/diving south of Redgate is a brave move for a while....
Quite ironically today up one end of the beach people were trying to save about 150 whales while up the other end there were about 1500 Salmon getting dragged up the sand....
