Battery Flat
Submitted by Shane O on Wed, 2010-02-10 11:35
My battery is completly flat, all the leads that go to the battery were disconnected. i am positve i have connected all the leads to - + ect. I gave it a jump start with a portabnle power pack, had the lid off the motor. connected one lead to the motor and other to the battery.
when i tried to start the engine, it sounded like it wanted to start. But then there was a little bit of smoke coming from somewhere on top of the engine, not sure if it was some oil or part of the motor?

Probably a loose connection
Probably a loose connection on the start solenoid or earth terminal on your outboard.
Check and make sure these are clean and tight and try again , or get someone to take a look at it for you .
