This time of year can be good in the river. Also give the beaches between port kennedy and mandurah a shot if your down that way.

Be prepared to put over a 100hours in before you get fish :D unless your lucky.

Ive been fishing the mandurah beaches for nearly 3 years and still havent had luck except for a couple of soapys.

Anyway good luck :D

Try around the freo harbour, just finish reading an article in the western angler about fishing
for mullaway there. Use live bait if you can.

Well I've been there many of times and had a few runs but its not Mulloway runs. I've caught Stingrays and the Fiddler Rays, but I would think that there is Mulloway lurking around the pylons. Tend to use the fishes that you catch there, so if your catching Yellowtail whack that on and send it back out. Ohh yeah you gotta watch out sometimes cause the Samsonfish hand around and brick you in the pylons (happen to me twice and accuatly saw the Sambo).

My reels screaming zzzzzzz.... awwww damn it, its another boat!

Narh mate, just about 5kgs but it still bricked me on me 6kgs spinning outfit. I had almost to the surface until it did its last surging run and pinged me in the pylons. Well I say take some extra gear with just incase because the Stingray's there are a nuisance sometimes. I always take 3 rods with me.

Ok tips:

Rods:
- 2kg Bream gear for catching bait or what ever.
- 7ft 6-10kg rod for live bait etc.
- 6kg rod for spinning metals or Snapbacks.

Reels:
- Everything equivalent to those size rods.

Tackle:
- Paternoster Rig for the bait gathering
- Snelled two Gamaskatu hooks #4
- Metal lures, Softplastics etc.

Bait:
- Use what ever your catching ie: If your catching Yellowtail or Slimey Mackerel, whack that on "ALIVE"
- Berley "PLENTY OF MULIE PIECES"

Hope that helps. If it doesn't, don't blame me lol.

This is why the website is up for. To help our fellow fisho's out and learn things from one another. But there's going to be one condition, if you catch a fish I claim half of it. lol. Narhhh man, only joking hey. Tell us if you get anything when you next head out, alright?
