Any Bream up river

I am hoping to head down to chase some bream later this week. Does anyone know if the bream have moved upriver in the Swan yet?

Hi Ya,

Oh venerated Colin #1, I tried Tuesday & Wednesday last week for one small bream at Garret Road bridge.  However, another poster (can't remember which forum) caught several good ones at Garret Road Monday afternoon along with a heap of choppers.

I was fishing northside of the river, he got all of his bream on the south side and choppers on the north (from memory).

I'll be trying again this afternoon ay Garret Road if all goes well.

Cheers.

I read a report today that the bream had made it up to Caversham, but I haven't heard anything myself. This hot weather should help move them I hope.

P,S. I love your avatar.

Hi Ya, Thought it kinda

Hi Ya,

Thought it kinda suited.  LaughingLaughing

Was up Old Fishermans Market, Midland area Wednesday but spent most of my time trying to help some poor coote that got the remote for his 4x4 wet and couldn't start his car.  Jumped out of his boat and forgot the keys in his pocket.  Drove out to Midland Toyota while he stayed to watch his boat but couldn't do anything for him.  Had fished for a while there but didn't get a touch.  Mind you didn't get to wander very far because of trying to help the guy and the tide was very low so probably not prime fishing time.

Cheers.

yeah colin, plenty of fish upstream at the moment, the water up there is hot enough to boil eggs so there are alot of smaller ones and grunter which give you the shits as well.

put the boat in at maylands the other day and worked our way upstream, picked up a few bream up to about 30cm.

Hi Ya, Tried Garret Road

Mon, 2008-12-29 22:04

Hi Ya,

Tried Garret Road bridge again this afternoon.  Left home around 5:00pm and fished until around 8:30pm for zip.  The only bream I saw was onthe end of the beak of a shag.  Damn thing should have been done for keeping undersize fish - it was only about 15cm.

I know this is asking more than I should Blake, but how far up stream do you call "up stream" and can you get along to the sort of spots without a boat?  Mind you, that'll chnage when I win ..... oooopsss, don't say that and put the mockers on. Sealed

Cheers.

i do't really like fishing

Tue, 2008-12-30 08:55

i do't really like fishing up past that ron courtney island, so most of the time we fish downstrEeam of that. but we still do fish further upstream in places like lilac hill, but thats when things really start to haet up.

My favourite stretch is maylands boat ramp up to about 500m before garret road bridge, i reckon i've got that area pretty well sussed and can normally find a few good bream around there.

as for land based spots well i'm not too sure how easily you could get to some of my spots but some are easy as because i still fish them from the shore as well. i'm not too good with explaining were spots are so i'll draw a map of a few good areas. and as for secret spots, i dont think theres such a thing on the river because everyone can see you, its just how you fish the spots.

Hope this helps
