Alternator - All Sorted

Hi all
I went to change out my alternator yesterday and i didn't unhook the batteries.
I arced one wire on the alternator case. A little spark but that was about it.
When I had finished and went to start the motor I had no ignition , completly dead.
All my radio's, trim, lights, bildge pumps & everything else works.
Just nothing when I turn the key.
I have checked all the engine fuses and all seem to be good.
Any idea's on what damage I might have done and how to rectify.
Engine is a 4.3ltr V6 mercruiser 2010 model.

do you have smart gauges??
if you do and they have no power?? there is a small fuse at the back of the gauges that could be blown! mine has blown before it took me ages to find it!

Yeah mate I do have a smart gauge.
Would that also cause the ignition to be dead.

Fuse
There is a fuse think it is 40 amp on the starter motor square shaped fuse check that

Not sure if it the same as the V8 but ours has a big resetable circuit breaker on the engine.

It has a breaker on the engine
But it was ok.
Hadn't tripped.

Starter Motor
Mate checkdown near the starter motor there is a ceremic block with a fuse on it. My guess is that it has gone. Has happened once before not long after I got it

Grabbed a multi meter and started at the alternator.
Worked my way down to the starter motor and that was where the problem was.
It was the little ceramic fuse on the starter motor.
$60 and a bit more f#ckin around and all is good.
