Albany Crabbing

G'day All,

Went for a crab in oyster Harbour(Albany) on Friday. It was fairly choppy so we marked where we dropped our pots on the gps just so we didnt loose them.Came back to the spot we dropped the pot and it was about 30 meters from the spot we marked. Didnt think much of it till we pulled ot up and found it to be totally bent on half.I know theres some big stingrays in there but i dont think they would be able to do this to the net.No other boats in the area...We can only think that it was a shark? We had some left over pinky frame for bait.

Cheers

chris

Dolphins

Were there any dolphins nearby? If so they could be to blame.
The last time I went crabbing in Bunbury the bastards would follow you along diving on the nets as soon as you dropped them, ripping off the bait and mangling the nets that had bait baskets in them untill they got the bait.At least up here in Carnarvon its tigers up to 9-10 foot that do the damage, will never forget the look on the missus' face the first time she pulled one up with a tiger not letting go untill he got right to the boat.I nearly fell over laughing, her eyes were as big as dinner plates.

Could have been a dolphin... id rather think of dolphins in the harbour than a bull shark or something nasty!
