afternoon squiding

just after some advice.
a freind wants to go squiding this arvo about 3pm out from woodys, i have only ever squided in the morning and thought they went off the bite in the arvo.
so is it any good in the arvo?
and were is the best spot to try out from woodys.
i normally head to the rocks, north end of gi, but im not sure how far out he wants to go.

Sunset
Have always had my best results squiding from the hour prior to sunset up until it is dark.
The best reason for doing what's right today is tomorrow.

late arvo is the best if you can get good weather
specially the last hour before sunset! just as the sun is hitting the horizon they get really aggressive!

might give it a go, but the weather is not looking that flash(winds)
maybe go to point peron and sip around to mangles bay, hopefully get some protection from the wind behind the groyne.

woodys middle groin is
woodys middle groin is alright but 2.5s and smaller are needed as it realy shallow and you should be protected from the wind.
there is also the cliffs. and GI look for clearish, calm water and you should get them. you will get squid all day just a matter of finding them.

Yep Ron, late arvo is the go. Yesterday, they really fired up around 5.30pm and we had to leave with them going nuts as we had caught plenty.

Yeah went out thurs arvo
Yeah went out thurs arvo after work over mangles bay way and got into a few the hour up to sunset. Definately worth heading out!
