406MHz EPIRB deadline!

The 406 EPIRB deadline is very close with the 1st February 2009 being the cutoff to the old 121.5/243 MHz

All recreational vessels proceeding more than two nautical miles from the mainland shore (except in the metropolitan EPIRB exempt area) will be required to carry the 406 MHz Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB)

It’s recommended beacon owners and users take steps to replace 121.5/243 MHz EPIRBs with 406 MHz EPIRBs as soon as possible. The International Cospas-Sarsat system will cease satellite processing of 121.5/243 MHz beacons from 1 February 2009.

With one of the main EPIRB wholesalers being out of stock until after the cutoff date, i've then sourced the ACR 406 EPIRB from another main company . This model has another very important feature like being water activated which is great in a crisis situation where you just grab the EPIRB at it activates automatically on water impact but can still be triggered manually!

Normally selling for $679 but we've got them at $599 for a limited time. So, if you havnt upgraded then nows the time to do so and save some $$$. I purchased all what the supplier had and stocks are selling quickly, PM me for more info if required;

Some info & a picture to view;

Am over east[The Entrance NSW],went for a shop and was able to bargain with a number of tackle/boat shops on epirb price.Finished up buying 3 @ $400 each,one for a mate,one for son[deepwater]and the last one for myself.

Got them from BCF,salesman queried why we got them there as BCF shops in Perth should have them at the same price!!!!
Wrong!!! Someone is ripping a lot of people off for shirtloads of cash somewhere.Nearly every shop has ample stocks of them available

ACR!

The last lot of GME 406 MT400 i sold was low $399 "as a boat show special" and then the last few were sold just over that to a few FW members (thanks again for their  local support Wink) The price has gone up on the MT400 and they the supplier have got 9000 on B/O Australia wide.....not good enought with the dealine approaching!

The unit I'm advertising have many extra features over the MT400 and get serviced locally & battery replaced locally with the water activation being requested more these days. These features has made the ACR 406 a popular unit especially as the price gap tightens up. The new price on the MT400 when they can supply will be $500 plus!

Okay, thread back on track, these units are moving fast, thanks for the PM allocation members....a few left still!!
