Is there a reason for it other than maybe the lines were too long??
Do you recommend "water separators" in ALL boats - I'm thinking about one in my 4.2mt Stacer with 30hp 2st outboard - has removable fuel tanks, presently use chemical water dispersant / fuel additive in the tanks.
The loops are there to provide extra hose so that if you have to replace the fittings there is enough hose to do it without having to remove all the tie and pull more through IF its avaiable.
One of the best water dispersants is metho, just pour some in the tank and give it a shake, job done.
If you're using your boat on a regular basis you might not need the filters if you are using petrol, diesel is another matter.
