Scotty's Big Chinaman

Scotty's Big Chinaman

We thought he had been sharked by the amount of power this thing showed. After a quick photo it was released to give someone else a bit of curry. One of the guys in town had told us that it had been taken off the Ciguetera warning list recently, but Scotty didn't want to risk it, and I don;t blame him either.

they certainly pull hard .i personly think pound for pound they are 1 off toughest fish on the reef.ive eaten a few of them and thought the ciguetra was only for the east coast fish.didnt even know they were on the w.a ciga list

always in it just the depth that varies

They pull like trains and would have to be about the toughest reef dweller up that way, they also get to reasonable size and the 15kg jobs take some stopping. If you get them in they ususally have a damaged face where they have tried to reef you deluxe. Also have eaten plenty and never had any ciguatera probs . I actually don`t think it is a problem in WA waters unlike parts of Queensland where they don`t even eat the Spaniards.

Yeah guys, this one pulled like no tomorrow. I have a bit of footage of it on the video camera, so watch out for that one in one of the future Exmouth 06' editions. Will post soon.
