getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.
Looks as if it were a viewing window at underwater world. I do miss being able to spin for salmon..I suppose we have to pay some price for all these macks!
great pic. hard to tell if its real or shopped but i would say the real deal. seen similar with buffies in the surf. certainly a photo you would want on the wall. one in a lifetime
Its the real deal fellas, shes got a whole heap of pics like this from that day............you do see this quite a bit down here, as often thats how you spot the smaller schools...through the waves when they break.
Being from Esperance this is a sight for sore eyes having lived in Perth for a few years scenes like this dont often appear, when i first moved to Perth i didnt believe that Salmon had a season as down Espy there always around. Miss those days can honestly say that photo looks the real deal. Just out of curiosity is that out 14 mile way or Kelpheads.
Just an after thought, the best times i had on salmon was in 1999/2000 flicking a laser 25g (blue) using a 6ft flick rod loaded with 8lbs spider line fusion at forthies at schools like this being chased by small bronzies. aaahhhh memories.
Gday Brooky...yes it really is salmon heaven down this way. This pic was taken at Blue Haven of all places!! I've had some epic times chasing salmon of lures too....I was fishing for skippy about a month ago on 11 mile reef when a big school of salmon moved in...had a ball throwing small twisties at them. caugh and released 6 in about half an hour good fun.
They can be pains too...fished Poison on Sat night...and couldnt catch anything else but!! hanging out for a gummy...
I don't buy it either, not for one second. There's no shadows or flashes off the flanks, there's no depth to the photo & most tellingly, there isn't a wave on this planet that has a face that is glass smooth once it gets that close to shore.
@Graeme76 Ive seen salmon in a wave like this at Preston beach. The image has then been run through a filter which gives it the look it has. The photos were taken around Albany. Fish havent turned the capes yet, if they even do due to the rushing current or will they go way wide? Normally they have gone past the capes by now so they miss it then turn up at Rotto in a week or two for a little wide staying deep
You obviously haven't been to Esperance then Graeme......not for one second.
I have asked the photographer and she assures me all she has done to this pic is crop it. She publicly posts her pics....doesnt sell them...so why would she go to the effort of photoshopping it?
But...hey.... thats your opinion. I just dont buy it.
I have a different opinion so of course I've never been to Esperance, naturally I've never fished landbased for salmon. Seems this site is full of people that always think they know all about people they've never met. It's my opinion & if you don't like it or it happens to be wrong, I don't much give a rats.
some great pics there. love the dolphins in the waves and to get a pic of the whales breaching behind the boat like that would have been once in a lifetime,
be good if the person concerned blew a few up for mounting ...with a little print on bottom stating where/date photographer etc...might have a few people interested ...love local photography ...which reminds me haven't seen Tailor Marc on here for a while
Anyway, Absolute top picture. Thanks for the link mr_meks, looks real to me and i hope is see something like that myself next week when i head down for a fish .
yerh i agree regarding the photo. I just dont see why people have to be so negative towards, saying its a fake, edited , photoshopped etc etc....Ive seen this growing up chasing salmon down south, and it happens regulary in a salmon season!!!!

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

This thread
should be in friday funnys.
Those of you who think this is a hoax have obviously never fished for Landbased for Salmon.
Scenes like this are very regular during a 'normal' Salmon run.
Just a bloody good photo
