They arnt spawning yet, but
They arnt spawning yet, but they were going to spawn and you have stopped that process all together now so i dont see how that could possible make you feel any better. Ud be better off catching them after they have spawned, atleast then it mite of produced a few offspring rather then none. Just my opinion...

Every Fish will end up spawning
Every fish will end up spawning at some stage. So are you guys saying we shouln't keep any fish because they haven't done it yet ? Start of the season or end of the season - in tha sound or out deep does it realy matter.
Nice catch snappermiles , just my opinion

by that logic
we had better just tag and release because every type of fish will spawn sometime!

Were not saying dont keep
Were not saying dont keep fish, just dont think its a good idea to target the pink snapper when they are vunerable and rite before they are about to spawn, because if they are in a school in the sound at this time of year then thats exactly what they are about to do.

Umm... you killed 2 spawing
Umm... you killed 2 spawing fish, so what... you didn't break the rules and are well within your rights to take these fish...
Just don't say they aren't spawing when by the looks of them, they are... and it is easy to tell. Just look at its ass... hahaha.

how did i no you would all jump on this
they had a belly full of berly this is why there guts were so pronounced! i love how you lot love to bag people out for catching fish this is no different from catching duhies at this time of year or sambos or any fish at this time of the year its spawning time! so each to there own opinion but seriously why bag people out! this is the main reason alot of people have left this site or dont post pictures!

Nice fish mate. Not "ALL" of
Nice fish mate.
Not "ALL" of us on this site share the same opinion. In fact I think you will find very few do. There is just a few that like to jump down peoples throats when they disagree with something.
I think you are just trolling for a bite with the threads heading and the "NOT SPAWNING YET" comment. Why bother posting if you have such a negative view of this site.

i put that heading up after the last cockburn thread where a certain few didnt like the fact that we were catching pinks in the bay at this time!

Nicely done Snappermiles you are well within your rights to catch these fish. Just sounds like jealousy to me. You've done alright lately. BTW I am jealous

2 people
Yep, 2 people make comment on this thread about them spawning and that AUTOMATICALLY means all of us. Just out of interest, what makes them 'not spawning' so the rest of us know what we are looking for when it comes to spawning or not spawning snapper?
Nice fish mate, half your luck being out there and onto them without anyone else hassling you out.

Isn't the closure meant to
Isn't the closure meant to cover the spawning period?
Then, assuming the powers that be are on the money, fishing outside that time would mean they aren't spawning
Perhaps it is not that simple.

Water Temps, Moon and tides
Water Temps, Moon and tides dont always coincide with Calender events as we found out with water temps last summer!

If you cant get hold of him PM me the details and I'll chase up the details
If you have the frame would be good if not the Cordaul length (nose to inside concave of tail) would help with growth rates.
