patchy
look for patchy bottom... weedy/sandy.
Then cast ya jigs and fish reasonably slow, lifting rod tip then slowly wind slack line. But change it up.
Different things work on different days.

More weed
Look for more weed than sand, and you need to get your jig to dance, or move erratically.
Depths anywhere from 2-20m, but more often around the 4-6m mark is the go

depends on the drift
fast drift you can let the boat catch them for you and sit back and wait , slow/no drift has you working the jig.
heavy jigs in the deep or fast drift.
you dont need to cast far , if you picking up weed work the jig more or dont leave as much line out.
berley works and oil helps you see them which can and does result in fun stealth catches!
