New Ride
Submitted by Tim on Sun, 2019-03-31 20:25
After the unexpected sale of the old boat I picked up a new boat a couple of weeks ago.
Its a 2301 Seaswirl Striper with a new 250hp Yamaha.
Had looked at some 26ft Stripers as well but wanted to keep it towable.
Just working through some initial personalization items to keep the boss happy then will use it for a while before deciding on what electronics upgrades to put on this one.

Yep
Thats correct. Pointing to the bucket and saying use that didnt go down too well.
All good. Nothing like a few extra comforts.
Cant head much further out than I did in the old boat but should be more comfortable for Rotto sleepovers with the close up cabin

Quite like the Stripers, but
Quite like the Stripers, but never seen inside one.
They look a little bigger than my Cruisecraft so you should have plenty of room!
Having said that, I have never opened the toilet on mine, its just too much of a pain under the V bunk.
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Roomy for a WA
Is reasonably Roomy for a Walkaround. At around 6ft I can just stand up in the cab.
Has a sink set up on the port side as you enter and toilet on the starboard rather than under the V at the front.
Will full infill its around a short double bed.
Plenty of deck room and will be wider. Euro transom will take a bit of getting used to but dont think it will be a major issue.

You sell all the electronics
You sell all the electronics with the old rig? Would of been worth more than the boat.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Not all
Not all but a good chunch. 295 and all the good transducers stayed with it.
Still have a TZ12 which I will chuck in for now on a bracket till I decide which way to go.
Not to worried about deep drop transducers and a P66 will work on the TZ for a while if needed
Want to keep this one simple if possible

Old
Backs getting older. Bigger boat will make for a better result after a day on the water.
Drum winch will be an added bonus for snapper fishing too

I had the 21' for a while
And it was a great boat.
There is an American Forum that is dedicated to the Stripers and is an excellent source of knowledge and tips and improvements etc. etc.

Thanks
Yep on there already.
Great source of info that site and very honest bunch about the pro's and con's of the boats.
Has already helped with a bit of upgrade planning I have been doing
