new reel

got my new reel spooled up today with 901 meter of 50lb fins braid, can't wait to try it out in the nice deep water, a shiny brand new penn international 16vsx

Yeh a nice reel Mako, i've been using one for nearly two years now and love it. Mainly a deep water reel for me......(80lb) but a power horse none the less......nice!

Dont know about the new ones but the older 16 drag was in the range of about 24-28lbs or something like that.

Penn's Extreme Drag Cam is rated to 15kgs approx at Max "Strike"

At "Full" Max it would be a shit load more.....more than required mate.

more than you would prob want to use, im now looking at maybe upgrading the penn formula 15 and getting the 30 size penn as well, top bottom reel fit shit load of line as i said i got 900m of 50lb on a size 16 reel, thats more than adequate
