Metro Mackie 2
Submitted by Andy Mac on Wed, 2006-08-09 21:01
All the talk about Metro Mackies in the last edition of the FWA Mag had me reminiscing about this beauty caught behind Staggies on a cold last day of May a couple of years ago. (Or was it last year, no can't be, must be two years ago.....I think???)Went 17kgs and went on a massive forst run. Used an Ugly Stick and a Penn 32o Left Hand Wind. Caught on a Laser Pro in the purple and black mackeral pattern.

Very Elusive
Every year I give it a crack in a similar spot, but haven't managed to nail a second one.
That day we had two hookups but only landed mine. And just to rub it in, did I mention that first drop out wide that same day, I caught a 17kg Dhuie.

Bigger
Looks way bigger in that photo than the one of you holding it horizontally. Solid fish, gotta get me one of those metro beasts soon.

Another pic somewhere Adam
Must have been a few years back now (seems so vivid a memory that I keep thinking it was only last year or the year before). The photo is before I got the digi camera so it must be a while now.
I have another photo of it somewhere that I can scan and post up. Have a few of me and my father-in-law and my mate Tony holding the Mackie and the Dhuie and another Dhuie and Sambo out the back of my place. Doesn't do the fish justice after being in the esky all day, so I won;t post any of them. There is one though in my gallery with them all on the table ready to be filletted.
Cheers
