went out today, far north for a change, these we the conditions out near sw banks,
funny day fish wise, no drift /wind fish were quiet, managed
a few catch and release large sambos going aroung 15-25kg mark, some nice red snapper, pink snapper and 1 dhue,
sounded around and learnt a hell of alot from me ol" mates jimbo and buddah, many yrs of experience, jimbo skippered the whole day, ( comes from his charter fishing days), also fully rearranged my foruno 585, and believe me this baby is set up awesome,
all in all had a great day, dhuies have moved from the lumps , we think anyway, hit some on flatter ground but juvenile spawners, released

22 miles out.
22miles out . i thought i had this thing setup good, but i was way off..
changing the bootm lock to 3 metres, the transducer power to 600w instead of 1kw,
setting the shift/range key so the main bottom was soomed always within 15metres was great, we used the bottom lock alot today, and man i,m telling u .. these sounders are truly awesome, jimbo has had many, he rated the best he,s seen, on a rec boat.
was good to sit back and be fisho /deckie for a change, by the time we got back to the ramp i had the boat clean..lol.. was a great day,
truly loved the experience
now i can,t wait to go out again more than ever.. haha

after today,,
after today,, for a change i didnt drive, jimbo did it all, but i washed the boat on the way in, scrub and deckwash, etc.. but it was almost to still, we went to some good dhuie ground got juveniles, but no drift i think hampered the fish, well at least thats what we think.. considering, 2 days ago 3 nice dhues were pulled from one of the spots. the babies we got went back no problemo ( no release weight,,haha) old skool method..
like i said truly awesome day, ended up with some v nice snapper, big blackass,
