Motor

Mon, 2006-08-28 17:27

It's a leccy reel and has a motor to wind it in and let the line out , you can't see the cable to power it in this pic , there is a little motor bike type battery that sits down on the floor to power it , the guy is in his 60's and still enjoys fishin' but has trouble winding in all the time , when he hooked a fish he wound it in manually to get the best out of the fish , and the counter was good as we knew when to get the gaff out as he called out the fish was 15 m from the boat , I have seen a few reels that have line counters on them but this is the first ( and not the last from the sounds of it ) that is powered up , would make lfe in real deep water easier to fish thats for sure , the reel hold 800m of 50 lb fireline , I think the guy said 70 m a minute with a 24 oz sinker and baits etc to wind it up , itwas quicker than anyone else with a manual reel thats for sure .

line counter's are for when you can't buy colour coded line HA HA recon it would be good for dropping a jig down to schools of fish tho if there mid water .
