Here's a spot that I went to last week. A great trip along the Gibb River Road and I was lucky enough to do it for work.
Spent the mornings waking up from the swag, making a billy tea with this sort of back drop. No fish but I still didn't want to leave the place. Will be heading back for sure someday
Some pics (on an old crappy digital) to share with you
Best way to do it is to load them up individually then create a forum topic and link them to it using the "image assist" function. Otherwise if its not something you want to keep in your gallery or in the brag board then use photobucket and upload direct to t epost from there.
The gib river road is one of the best in Australia!IMO. Plenty of tracks to explore and beautiful senery. A must view in my book. Have they sealed the roads yet? They were talking about it.
Big John, yeah we did try for cherabin in the fresh water pools with chook pellets and a cast net. But the temp was too cold and we only got a few as opposed to a bucket full! Still it whet the appetite for the wet season when the temps warm up
Spess, I agree with ya. I reckon the Gibb River Road is an iconic Australian 'must travel' road for sure. I'm gonna make some time with the family and do the treck again but at a more leisurely pace this time. Only parts of the road are sealed but they have road crews on it all the time grading it, but it still gets sloppy with big thunder storms as we found out
Some nice pics Chima and a much nicer place to work then down in the cold. Missus and I spent 2 months between Derby and Kununurra in our camper trailer in 2000 - many great memories. If only I knew what I know now about Barra! We stayed at one place on Theda Station - 2 hrs to do 60km to the camp site - but oh was it worth it.
The Gibb should be on all Aussies to do list - mine you, alot of the access has been closed off because of idiots doing the wrong thing.

Magic Country
Certainly a magical place Chima. Did you try for any cherabin in the pools?

Never seal it
I hope they never seal it. Would remove a lot of its mystique IMO.
