Nup
Have been meaning too, but everytime the word FAD and dolphinfish are mentioned the weather turns completely shocking and I just dont get around to it. I will be rigging them up tomorrow thou, heading out on Wednesday for a tuna troll and a bottom bounce from Woodies and then heading out Thursday to see what we can find out from Hillaries.
Sounds like you did alright the other day mate. :)) Have inspired us to go and have a look for a few tuna.

heheh
All my work on this site has to come with some fringe benefits. :) Next time we are out mate there will be a spread of them behind the boat and dollies fighting over which one to take.

Change it up
I like trying variations. Usually the deeper divers inclose on the prop wash or first bow wave so they clear the spread on hookup.
Lures, have one just behind the bird on both sides and the other two further back if their a little gun shy.

Had some bad luck the last
Had some bad luck the last couple of fad trips, and only had results with live bait or fresh herring/garfish, and ocassionally on pink SP. Decided to get a teaser and jointed garfish lure to test out at the FADS this year, hopefully some other species this year aswell.

Interested
Will be interested to hear how you go Dean. Ive had much more luck with bait than lures. The old Jelly Babe has worked well at times tho as well as the old christmas tree lure.
Much easier drifting cubes down on the bream gear than trying to troll with it.

Drifting cubed mulies
Drifting cubed mulies resulted in more mutton birds than anything for me, they are a pain! I believe that Squid are part of their staple diet and we tried drifting a few squid down, and again got mutton birds, and a few looks from dolphin fish but not much else.
The first few times we were fishing heavy line, but dropping down to 12lb fluro resulted in fish.

Knack
Theres a knack to it Dean. Once you work out how to deal with the mutton birds its pretty easy.
Last time out I took Fishcrazy and showed him how I do it. We cleaned up while the other dozen boats out there didnt get many in comparison.

hmmm will have a think about
hmmm
will have a think about it and try nut it out, we tried throwing mulies in other directions to get their attention away, but with 20+ birds around the boat had little impact, only way I got it down without being touched was just after we moved and the birds were all still flying around.
