caught this cobia at the onslow salt jetty on a foot long trevally while trying to entice the local 100kg queensland goper to have ANOTHER GO aqs he had already snatched a few fish at the boat actually pulling one of us over the side .im still laughing about the fish magnet getting pulled in

he wieghed in at 18.5 kg on didji scales my pb .he would of only gone 18 kg as once we filleted him you could clearly see the 500gm trev i used for bait stuffed in his stomach but ill take the extra 500gms hahahah!!!!!!

coming home after chasing BEAR at the onslow salt jetty .no we werent gonna hurt the big groper .ive nic named her dorris .just wanted to try and get her boat side for a pic .i bet the old girls got a fair bit of jewerly hanging of her as she certainly got some of ours already.just so ya know this bloke was NOT the bloke to go over the side of the boat chasind Dorris
his catch cry for the next 2 days was WHAT HAPPENS ON THE BOAT STAYS ON THE BOAT .....not
you guys gonna love the mackie isles mate .we found some ground between anchor and long isle . bloddy awsome .5 to 6 metres deep we just got smashed to pieces by big spanglies .tortuess big trevs fish stealing bronzies and a surprise catch for that depth a nice little red emp a bit of a surprise was not one trout .thats not to say we didnt hook one though as it was a race to get the fish in as the sharks were bloody hungry

cod ripped from the gob of dorris released well
nice cod as well .he went back as we had already got one a bit smaller that went into the esky .they are right up there with the best eating fish imo .nice thick tender white fillets

with the sun not setting till about 8 .yep its deffinately worth a look big john .it will take you about 10mins from the boatramp to get into them .ive been there on occasions and had big queenies attacking surface bait fish , good fun flicking lures on lighter gear .not to light though took this pic on my phone so i could send it to a few mates around the place .you should of read some of the replys haha i love making them sqirm
