Hard to tell the scale of the shot, but certainly looks like a Sunfish. I read recently that their habbit of basking on or close to the surface results in impacts from boats/ships. That may explain the beach wash up.
SOI, Cheynes is basically (approx) 30 clics east of Albany, and yes, Sunfish can be huge. Ocean sunfish (Mola mola) can gow more than 4.2m and 3m across. a 2.7m specimen, caught in 1996 of 'only' 2.7 meters in length weighed 2.3 (metric) tones (5,071 pounds)!
