That looks like an 8oz jig head. I bought a couple some time ago with the view to using them in 40m+ depths but haven't bothered to date. In fact I've got no SP experience. Do you need to work the jig or is it a stick it in the rod holder and see what happens?
I think that one was actually a 6oz but we've got them in 8 as well. We work them by lifting the rod tip slowly and letting it drop and flutter the plastic down.

Not really, I still prefer
Not really, I still prefer them over alot of other fish. Probably the only thing I like better would be Coral Trout and Blubone.
