Bought myself a new present today!!

After a few GPS dramas with my old unit thought it was time to upgrade, purchased a new HDS 10 today after some sweet talking to the other half.
A very big thanks to the boys at Bias Boating for a great price and help to load all my existing data onto the new unit!!

HDS
Tim, I had an LCX111 combo unit in my boat prior to this, but I'm suspecting the GPS module is stuffed, rather spending $400 on a new module I bought a totally new combo unit. I will at some stage buy another module for the old unit to see whether that was in fact the issue. For the meantime it will live in my fishing shrine, which would be better known to most as a back bedroom.

I'll be interested in your thought on it. I was looking over the HDS8 as my next sounder/plotter. I always wanted a Furuno but the good reports on the HDS series keep coming in so can't be ignored.

hey tim i have the hds10 as
hey tim
i have the hds10 as well and it is awsome, shits all over my navman trackfish 6600, it is also better than the jmc pro sounder i had with a 1kw tranny.
the gps side with the platium card is way better than my navman as well.
in the jmc defence i was proberly not using it to its optimun, but i mainly swaped over because i wanted the combo and the jmc was sounder only.
my freind runs the furuno585 and i think the hd is better than his.
spend the extra dollars and get the 10, you will be happy.
cheers ron
just dhu it

Tim, I'll let you know as soon as we can get out next for a look, realistically I was pretty happy with my last unit which was exactly the same size but from what I've heard the new unit will be superior.
Just Dhu, as far as I'm aware I'm not a father so I couldn't get away with that one. I think not having kids makes it easier to con the misses!!!
