Ben, the tape on the left hand would be to protect the finger from line cuts when hand line fishing, and it works a treat, done plenty of hand lining in the past and the line cuts hurt like hell
It's actually the inner tube from a road bike. The rubber grips the handline well and protects the fingers. Allows for some great purchase to stop the big guys and keep em coming!
