Hey everyone,
Just curious if anyone knows, what would you expect to pay to service a yamaha 4 stroke 80hp?
Probably a 200hr service,
any info much appreciated,

dont be in any rush to get it done a any one spot. shop around as the prices will vary a fair bit. there are even mobile guys that can do it in your own yard. a couple of good ones have been mentioned on here before but cant remember names

might help...
a mate of mine gets his Evinrude (suzuki) 4stk serviced at the same guy who does his car.
this bloke reckons that most marine joints overcharge to do a normal service on what is esentially a small car motor and often do not so much as change the impellor?!?
me - i'm stoked that my 2stroke merc is allergic to professional attention and thrives on my meagre ministrations.
but this guy seems pretty good and comes in significantly cheaper. obviously won't be everyones cup of tea but if you're interested, PM me and i'll find his details for you. He is in Spearwood i think.

DEPENDS
all depends on what the service guy does and finds wrong with the motor, my last service 100hrs $ 530 , full service and new impellor . two new filters and water trap cartrigde, could of saved $100 by not doing the water pump but it sure costs alot more when the motor seizes when the pump fails . i only log about 100 to 135 hrs a year , one big service at the start of each year ensures i have trouble free running.
cpmpared to a motor car , outboard motor 150 yammy 20 k @ $ 600 per year against $ 20 k commodore 2 services a year , and not running in salt water
