Managed 6 trout from Harvey Dam on Monday. Hoping to get back down over the weekend. Another few weeks of decent weather and it'll be time to head to the Blackwood and try my luck there.

Nice work mate sounds awesome. Would love too get a trout. Is that the best time for black wood ?

I been gettin a few herring and salmon trout which are fun, only been out couple 

times though. Can't wait till the inlets clear up as they are very brown :)

ill be heading down manjimup/pemberton way in a couple of weeks to try my luck in a few spots. better off waiting till the weather worms up and then the flying ants come out in the late arvo. best thing ever casting at a rising trout.

i grew up around that area and have been fishing it for a long time, to be honest the best way to catch trout down there is with a little spin flickey.

True on hard bodies ? Yeh a fly would be awesome though :) u mainly fresh water fly fish or ?

yer i only fly fish in the fresh water for trout with dry flys. the visual take of the fly is the best part about it, for me anyway.

Yeh definetly would be :) will have too do it sometime:) hopefully will get my first sight casted bream on fly when the inlet clears up :)

you did alright.. we went down with the fly club and apart from 1 guy everyone else struggled including a few of the fish magnets! 6 fish is remarkable effort!

first time ive fished in fresh water.. cant say I got overally excited about it.. but fishing is fishing.. im thinking of heading down again in a week or so!

Hit the rivers around Albany for a laugh... real mixed bag of Tailor,Herring,juv salmon,Yellow tail and loads of black Bream.. all on a little flouro green/yellow clouser.
Great fun on the 5wt :)

 Still pretty dark in the rivers aye. But sounds like u did good :) 

I am waiting for the weather to settle down then the wand will get a work out. Off to Manjimup on 29th for 5 days with fly gear and 2 - 6 weight outfits. Planning on floating around on Big Brook Dam for a couple of days testing out some techniques and soft plastics.Heard that the rivers down South are flowing well but very coloured up so will check them out when I get there.

not sure how many you will get in big brooke redfinman, all the trout died last summer when the water temp got to high. you might still get a redfin or 2

Hi Crezz ( and other readers ) - I enjoy the peace and quiet at Big Brook floating around on my kayak targeting Redfin and Trout with vibes and soft plastics.Yes there was a number of Trout floating around last season due to whatever but I have caught some lunker Reddies even on low water - my avatar is 2 Reddies caught there on Atomic paddle tails the best one nudged 2 kilo's. My job is full of noise and distractions but the sound of silience is special for me and the fish are a bonus. Anyone else on this site who fish down Manji or Pemby ?  

i know what you mean redfinman, i get the same kicks exploring the bush around that area. i put my boots and chainsaw pants on and then tackle the blackberry ridden water ways looking for un fished water. i get more snags in the bush than i do in the water:-)

Once one rusty. Were u visiting Albany or ? Yeh haven't got a bream on fly so keen but 

only started a month or more ago. But yeh keen for the salmon again on fly will be awesome.

redfinman a 2 kg Redfin would pull hard as :) u get them on fly regularly ??

Not long to go till SALMON season !! I got a couple at the same inlet above ..but off the island to the right (you will see it ) if I am down there when they are on I will hit you up for a cast.. enjoy the unspoilt outdoors mate
