What fishing charter\destination do you recommend

G'day, I'm from Adelaide and hoping for some advice. It's my brothers 60th birthday coming up December and we want to arrange a WA fishing holiday/charter for 4-5 days for him his two sons and a few mates. Our budget is about $3000 - $4000 per head for 6-8 persons including airfares and accomodation. We would like to do a mixture of reef fishing and trolling for mackeral and sailfish.we are open to suggestions to destinations time of year... Just hoping some local knowledge will save us from ending up with dodgy operators or booking the windy season.
Cheers

Montebello Islands
'nuff said.
Amazing part of WA with an incredible history and mad fishing. Montebello Island Safaris can get you there and have great options avalable with their houseboat for sleep time and either the main boat for offshore or their dingies for around the islands. Need your skippers ticket for the dingies though so you might want to check whether SA and WA boat licences are interchangable.

have to agree
I have planned a similar trip and whilst all Montebellos trips look the goods too and may even be better fishing, the houseboat remote island seems more comfortable to me, price is the bottom end of what you are looking for, but you have to get to Exmouth and perhaps stay a night before etc.
it is a little longer than 4-5 days too.

Only thing with Montebello
Only thing with Montebello Islands is the time of year your coming to WA.
In December is the wet season up north, and Cyclone season. Generally windy as all hell too.
My suggestion would probably be Abrolhos islands if charters operate out there that time of year. Good reef fishing, and mackies will be about im sure.
Will also fit your budget, with a flight to perth then a road trip to Geraldton.
Monte's would cost you a bit given your coming from SA.

Head to the monties!!! Call
Head to the monties!!! Call Bernie and Sandra from Montebello Sportfishing Charters, it's about 3200 a head for 6 days using top quality gear for 6 people. did it last year and had a ball! you'd be stiff to have a cyclone that early in the season for sure. we had some cracking weather in December in Karratha and well the Monties aren't far from here.
