VHF Antenna

I am looking for a high quality VHF antenna.  Anyone have a recommendation?

and never had any issues with 27MHZ or VHF... Can't recommend a model as it comes down to whether you want one with fixed mount, swivel mount and also what size you want.

I am currently using the GME AH366H and AH366V with swivel mounts (Quick release) mounts and have not had any issues.... but then again only had these ones for 6 weeks.... Had similar setup on last boat but older models with no probs either.

I have a Navman one fitted to my Raymarine radio, don't ask me why but thats just what they fitted when I bought my boat.
I agree with David though, I think GME products have more than proven themselves to be reliable gear.

I brought a Pacific, and the glue holding the base to the aerial came apart, had to clean it and re-glue. Bad quality control.

Its not the length of the aerial that is important, but the height above the boat. VHF signals travel in a straight line. If you have a rocket launcher then mounting the aerial on top of that to gain extra height is the way to go. If you use an eight foot aerial there then the performance is even better.
