tm260 to 587 wiring ??

Hey guys,
Recently invested in a new FCV 587 and bought a second hand tm260. The tm 260 came without a plug at the end of the cable but did come with the 9 pin furuno plug separate. Been doing a bit of research and I'm getting some conflicting views. Spoke with a guy from Furuno today who thinks I can just join the same coloured wires together. But have had others saying I'll need a mb1100 matching box to wire it up. I don't want to stuff something up so anyone on here with any experience in this your help will be very much appreciated.
On a side note if it is as simple as joining the same coloured wires together should I just solder and insulate them or is there a better way?
Cheers
Chris

think you need to establish
think you need to establish from the previous owner if was a diplexed or non diplexed type. Non diplexed would require a MB1100 as far I know.

transducer tm 260
Hi I saw you comment, I understand the dilemma, the info from airmar for this specific transducer model was just join the same coloured wires, the furuno tech I spoke with in Queensland said use the diplexer box, I would reconfirm with airmar technical support, give them the model number as on the paper tag which is in the plastic tube of your adjustable bracket at the transducer end, tell them your exact question, so they will exactly know, they make the transducer. Sorry to see the hassel involved , re joining the wires solder them but use heat shrink to cover them, good as gold. Apparantly there are several model types of the tm 260 with and with out diplexer built in all the very best.

Cheers guys,Found the paper
Cheers guys,
Found the paper tag with the model number this morning, it was a bit worse for wear but managed to get the number off it and after a bit of a search this morning found that it is diplexed. So should be able to connect it up without a MB1100.
Thanks for your help.
