6.5 CM with NightForce NX8 4-32x50, very nice stick that I've been shooting for a couple of years.

The trigger is sweet, 1MOA guarenteed, their bloody good value for money and I've had Sako's previously.

Shot out to 600yds at Coolilup and no doubt the gun is capable of 1,000yds, Hornady ELDX 143.

I went with the Hunter for the wood stock, I'm old school but I can see the Varmint with adjustable cheek piece could be a good thing.

Like I said its difficult to find a bad review. 

Some crew seem to be having trouble with Tikka in 300 but everything else seems sub 1" moa out of the box....

Nice optics you've got there, Thats the trouble with going down the accuracy rabbit hole ( its like bloody golf ), You want to give yourself the best chance of shooting as accurately as possible.... 10k later !!

I was determined to trade two old rifles and get two newys but the sensible thing to do would be one at a time, this year then next....

I do agree re wooden stocks but after dragging a wooden stock 308 around the mountains in NZ ( nursing it everywhere ) I'm converted....

 Wouldn't get to fixated on one make. Tika are a great rifle but I think they are over priced.  Have a Ruger 308 that is light and accurate  enough for pig hunting.  Not a precision 1000 yard rifle by any stretch but a great hunting gun. I guess it depends on what you want to do with it. Would definitely consider looking at others rather than just one brand as the modern machining technology produces mostly sub moa rifles out of the box, certainly minute of pig anyway. I jumped on a mates 223 CTR Tikka in NZ, the thing was brand new and I was well impressed...

I'm certainly not denying other brands but I've been contemplating for sometime...

The mate with the 223 in NZ ( lives in Aus but has 5 or 6 rifles sitting in someone elses cabinet over there ), he's financially flush and would have something like 35 rifles in his safe on the farm....

He's got all sorts but has been adament for a while that value for money the Tikka is a premium rifle for the price...

I know he's got two 6,5cm also in CTR and probably others...

I'm happy to pay a bit more, these will last me but I am hearing what you are saying Gav...

I'm looking into getting scopes shipped to a mates in Texas and then sent here... Hopefully that saves a decent amount of cash

 Nope.... Not worth doing, buying in US atm, saves about $30

My SA mate reckons the Element Optics are a very good scope for the price and worth considering...

I have the .270 Winchester with the heavy stainless barrel.

It is a beautiful gun and a little less recoil than the .308. Maybe an option.

Maybe it was a little expensive but I'm not thinking about that when I'm squeezing the trigger.

As with the .308, you only have to shoot things once.

Currently thinking about the ruger .204.

Tikka T3 Hunter owner in 243WIN. No issues.

 Last cast, The deposit went down on the 223 in Tikka CTR today....

Couple of reasons I will stick to the 308 is - Its already a calibre on my licence which you now get a fee for a new calibre but more importantly I've got a heap of brass...

308 next year, I'll muck around with the new 223 until then...
